Met grote trots mogen wij Dr. Francesco Lodà verwelkomen als instructeur op Winterkamp 2027!

Francesco is meervoudig HEMA-kampioen, historicus, gevechtschoreograaf en een van de bekendste namen binnen de internationale HEMA-community. Al jarenlang combineert hij zijn passie voor historisch schermen met zijn expertise in film en podiumgevechten. Of hij nu lesgeeft, vechtscènes creëert of onderzoek doet naar de geschiedenis van krijgskunsten: één ding staat altijd centraal in zijn werk: elk gevecht vertelt een verhaal.

Naast zijn werk in HEMA en film is Francesco ook ridder in de Soevereine Militaire Hospitaalorde van Malta. Als hoofdcoach rapier van de Italiaanse Schermbond deelt hij zijn kennis en liefde voor het zwaard met schermers over de hele wereld.

A multi-time HEMA champion, academic historian, and internationally acclaimed fight choreographer, Francesco is widely recognised as one of the most respected figures in HEMA. He has dedicated his career to mastering both the art of historical fencing and the craft of cinematic combat. Whether he’s coaching athletes, choreographing action for film and television, or teaching the history of martial arts, one idea always guides his work: every fight should tell a story.

Beyond the fencing hall and the film set, Francesco is also a Knight of Malta and a member of the Sovereign Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem. As the lead rapier coach for the Italian Fencing Federation, he continues to share his expertise, passion, and dedication to the art of the blade.
