Despite our best efforts, double hits happen a lot in sparring and in tournaments. A lot of the time, these happen because one or both fencers do not (or choose not to) recognise their opponent’s threat; the hunger to score a hit occupies too much of the mind.
In this workshop, we will approach this problem from two angles.
First, to recognise threats posed by the opponent and how to change your actions to deal with them.
Secondly, how to project your threat clearly enough that even the most inattentive opponent can’t help but notice it (and no: the solution is not to hit harder).
