In this workshop we are going to look at how to parry with effective structure, how to create openings with a parry and what circumstances allow us to parry. We will apply geometry, biomechanics, distance, timing and other factors to put our sword between us and our opponent’s attack, while allowing us to keep fencing effectively. You will get some (hopefully) useful tips on parrying and some ideas on how to not get hit.
You will need a (long)sword, mask, gloves and a throat protector for the drills and full gear for the games.
